Formerly known as the Tippecanoe Piano Teachers Network, TMTA was established in 1986 to encourage and enrich the quality of music study in Tippecanoe County and to promote communication and activities among the independent music studios in the area. Current activities include the Showcase Recital Series, Hoosier Auditions, piano and strings competitions, performance and composition competitions with the Music Teachers National Association.
TMTA encourages continuing education for its member teachers through seminars and workshops.
Tippecanoe Music Teachers Association is affiliated with Music Teachers National Association and Indiana Music Teachers Association.
